About
A company built on fifty years of Tamil storytelling.
The company
Established Media Sdn Bhd was founded in January 2025 to make original Tamil-language content for television and digital platforms in Malaysia.
The company was formed by Elena Thomas and Kenneth Jaysone Francis, and it works across development, production and delivery — taking a story from first draft to the platform it airs on.
What the company chooses to make is deliberate. Malaysian Tamil-language television has historically been narrow in genre and cautious in casting. Established Media exists to widen both.
The formats have changed; the work has not.
- Videotape
- VCD
- Streaming
The legacy
Where this comes from
Elena Thomas grew up inside the business. Her father, Joseph Thomas, was the first to bring Tamil cinema to Malaysian audiences on videotape and later VCD — a distribution shift that put Tamil film into homes across the country and made him a figure of real standing in the industry.
That was almost fifty years ago. The formats have changed; the work has not. Established Media carries the same instinct into streaming — find the audience where it actually is, and give it something worth watching.
What we make
Genre-first
We develop in genres that Malaysian Tamil television has rarely touched — horror, thriller, and character drama that does not resolve neatly.
New faces
Casting and writing opportunities go to people without a long list of credits. That is a deliberate policy, not an occasional exception.
Made for platforms
Our work is built for how people watch now — commissioned for streaming and broadcast, with the data discipline to know whether it landed.
Locally rooted, built to travel
Stories grounded in Malaysian Tamil life, made to the standard that carries them beyond it.

Vision
The ambition is straightforward: make Malaysian Tamil content that reaches audiences well beyond Malaysia, without sanding off what makes it Malaysian. A wider range of stories, a wider range of people telling them.
